Garden Green Detox

Makes 2 cups

Ingredients 

8 romaine lettuce leaves (if you cannot find, use mixed lettuce)

½ cup of baby spinach leaves or English/Tuscan kale

A small handful of cilantro or coriander

2 celery stalks, with tops

2 green apples

¼ beetroot

1 lemon, use a little skin

1-inch chunk of fresh ginger

Method

Place spinach, lettuce and parsley in the cold pressed juicer followed by celery, apples, beetroot, ginger and lemon.  Add a little alkaline water if needed.

Superfood Powers: Dark leafy greens like romaine and spinach are rich sources of chlorophyll, silica, sulphur and B vitamins to purify the blood.  Parsley stimulates digestion and purifies the kidneys of wastes, ginger boosts circulation and beetroot is the ultimate lymphatic cleanser.  No wonder this is the ultimate ‘green detox’ drink.  For extra cleansing – add a good organic green powder rich in barley grass, wheatgrass and spirulina.
