"Our little backstory on how Wholistic House was born"
Katrina's early years unfolded in the beautiful coastal town of Kirra, on the Gold Coast. Surrounded by the beauty of the ocean, she embraced an upbringing filled with surfing and outdoor activities. This fostered within her a deep connection to nature and the healing energies of the landscape that surrounded her.
Following a career that spanned the globe, her desire to create a tranquil healing space inspired by her connection to the ocean grew stronger. Serendipity stepped in and the perfect beachfront location in Kirra materialized, giving birth to Wholistic House almost two decades ago.
At Wholistic House we integrate naturopathic medicine with modern scientific knowledge offering a unique wellness experience. This rare fusion of traditional healing modalities paired with cutting-edge technology has evolved over many years of naturopathic practice, providing advanced holistic health guidance. We employ an array of on-site techniques, from heavy metal and mineral testing to bioenergetics, iridology and darkfield microscopy and maintain close relationships with the best health practitioners and pathology laboratories ensuring absolute precision and care.
Our beachfront clinic boasts one of the largest apothecaries in Australia, offering a diverse range of premium naturopathic formulations and the purest herbal extracts all personalized to enhance your wellbeing. Among our distinctive offerings are innovative naturopathic formulations, including our original liposomal mushroom blends. Each ingredient is meticulously sourced for purity and potency and handcrafted with care by one of the best scientists in his field, in the serene Byron Hinterland.

“My name is Katrina, or Kaia to anyone who really knows me. For more than half my life, I have immersed myself in the realms of natural medicine, practicing internationally as a naturopathic doctor, herbalist, iridologist, author and lecturer. To say that I am passionate about natural medicine and living foods would be an understatement. I live, breathe and get excited about anything and everything to do with natural wellness whether it be crafting a new product, creating a new recipe or helping others find their vibrant wellbeing with these beautiful gifts. Ever since I can remember, I have felt a calling to a purpose greater than myself – a natural connection to the earth and its healing remedies and no matter how hard I tried to resist this pull, the universe would always find a way to guide me back to my true purpose time and time again.”
Early on in my journey, I had the honour to work for the Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand in his health retreat, Chiva-Som. Amidst luminaries and royalty from across the globe, I immersed myself in consulting refining my healing skills. Here, I had the opportunity to develop innovative wellness programs all while integrating modern technology from all corners of the globe.
While working in this paradise, my journey took an unforeseen turn following exposure to a toxic agent. Suddenly my belly began to expand as if I was ten months pregnant. Despite seeking answers globally, I faced several misdiagnoses, until I advocated on removing the mass. Not long after I received the devastating news: I had a malignant form of ovarian cancer with a very poor long-term prognosis. Conventional treatment offered only aggressive chemotherapy to prolong my life. Drawing on my knowledge I opted out of chemotherapy after a short time and instead chose a different path embracing the healing potential of natural medicine, nourishing foods and the limitless power of my mind. By the age of 28, less than one year later, I was cancer free. This transformative experience inspired my first book ‘Shattering the Cancer Myth’, now in its 5th reprint, offering hope to others facing these challenges. This journey instilled within me the resilience of the human spirit and the extraordinary healing power of holistic medicine.
Fortunately, my path has led to enriching opportunities, including working at prestigious health retreats, clinics and universities worldwide. For over three decades I've had the honor to consult with tens of thousands of individuals from diverse backgrounds, including many esteemed personalities. This extensive experience has not only enriched my knowledge of holistic medicine, but also inspired me to write several authentic, transformative books like 'Natures Medicine Cabinet', 'Raw Addiction' and 'The Alchemy of Beauty'.
Even after a lifetime of working in this field, my passion for healing, faith in natural medicine and dedication to helping others remains strong. This journey has also been personally rewarding, showing me the remarkable power of natural medicine and the unlimited potential of the mind. Against all odds and with the love of my husband, I conceived and raised two beautiful children, a testament to the possibilities that lie within when you tap into the unlimited power of natures gifts.
My love for science and technology has allowed me to integrate diverse healing arts into my practice - from iridology and herbalism to energetic medicine, darkfield microscopy and DNA analysis. This fusion of ancient wisdom and modern innovation shapes my approach to holistic practice.
A commitment to authentic, evidence-based medicine combined with extensive clinical experience, inspired me to develop a range of Australian made naturopathic formulations. These meticulously crafted liposomal blends are created to address modern-day malabsorption issues, while promoting optimal health and well-being.
In everything I do, I choose to primarily support local farmers and small business, while maintaining a deep respect for the earth and its remedies.

My journey with Ruby began long ago when her family settled in Casuarina. Years later, fate reunited us in a coffee shop, where I was drawn to her energy, positivity, and natural beauty. When the opportunity arose for Ruby to pursue naturopathy, I leaped at the chance to welcome her to Wholistic House. Little did I know then the impact she would have on our team and our clients. Ruby shines brightly in every aspect of her being—intelligent, empathetic, and attuned to the needs of all our clients. Ruby is an invaluable gift to our practice and to all who cross her path.
Drew
Much like Ruby, my connection with Drew traces back to our early days in Casuarina. Affectionately dubbed our 'Nordic Goddess,' Drew commands attention not just for her height —but for her inner and outer beauty, with the highest cheekbones you’ve ever seen. Just like Ruby, Drew is a multi-talented wonder, working behind the scenes orchestrating all things - podcasts, meetings, website management, while offering support and empathy to clients daily. She is also an invaluable gift to Wholistic House and to all who cross her path.

Wholistic House is located directly opposite the stunning ocean in the coastal town of Kirra. A gorgeous little reading nook is found at the front door so you can have a cup of herbal tea, alkaline water or bone broth while you gaze at the serenity of the Pacific Ocean, and hopefully catch a glimpse of a whale while you wait.
